The Perth SEO packages we checked run from about $500 to $4,500 a month, with bigger projects quoted above that.123 Part of that money pays for routine website work, such as checks, fixes to pages and a monthly report. Software can now keep on top of much of that routine work, which leaves your budget and your attention for the parts that need a person.
What Perth businesses pay for SEO
Here is what three Perth providers publish on their own websites, checked on 26 September 2026. Many agencies only quote after a call, so treat these as examples, not an average.
| Perth provider | Monthly packages | GST | Terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| An agency in West Leederville1 | $1,200 to $2,000 (Starter), $2,500 to $4,500 (Growth), $5,000 or more (Enterprise) | Not included | Month to month, 30 days’ notice |
| A Perth agency2 | $499 and $599 (starter packages), $799 to $2,999 (full packages) | Not stated | Month to month, one month’s notice, no setup fee |
| A consultant in Padbury3 | $970, $1,760 and $3,300 | Included | Cancel any time; a $220 setup fee |
The same pages list consulting by the hour too. One quotes $195 an hour, and another puts the Perth range at $100 to $300 an hour.13
What a retainer usually covers
The packages list much the same work:12
- a technical check of the website, and fixes to the key pages;
- keyword and competitor research;
- your Google Business Profile and local business listings;
- new content, such as a blog post or pages for the suburbs you serve;
- links from other websites;
- a monthly report and a call.
Some now add work aimed at AI answers as well.2
Some owners in research for the small business ombudsman said their provider handed over reports full of data that was hard to read or understand.4 In the same research, published in January 2023, nearly three in four of the 412 small businesses surveyed (73.5%) had never stayed with one digital marketing provider for more than a year.4
What Google says
Google says there are no extra requirements or special tricks for appearing in its AI Overviews or AI Mode. The same basic SEO practices apply: pages that can be found and indexed, useful text, and accurate business information.5
Google’s advice on hiring an SEO is worth reading before you sign anything. It suggests asking for examples of past work and how success will be measured, and it is blunt: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.”6 The WA Small Business Development Corporation adds that you should ask what a “first page search result guarantee” really means, get any promise in writing, and avoid long lock-in contracts.7
What the Growth plan takes on
Much of a retainer is routine: checking pages, fixing titles and descriptions, filling in missing image descriptions, and reporting on it. That routine work is what software can now keep on top of for you, without waiting for a monthly report.
Easydone Studio’s Growth plan includes Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Agent Optimisation (AO) for AI search, ongoing website checks and SEO improvements, and competitor research for search. In practice:
- SEO: Studio keeps your page titles, page descriptions, links and website content in better shape.
- AO for AI search: Studio organises the facts about your business and services, so AI assistants can understand what you offer.
- Website checks: Studio checks your website for problems such as missing image descriptions and broken links, and makes or prepares the fixes, depending on how you set it to run.
- Competitor research: Studio keeps your research up to date and shows where there is something useful to work on next.
You choose how it runs. “Let it run” means Studio makes the updates and reports back. “Check it first” means Studio prepares the work and you decide what goes live.
An example: a Perth plumber
This is a fictional example. A two-van plumbing business in Morley has paid an agency for SEO for a year. The monthly report is hard to follow, and the owner isn’t sure what changed.
- The owner starts on Growth and picks “Check it first”.
- Studio checks the website and prepares its first improvements: clearer page descriptions for blocked drains and hot water repairs, and descriptions for the job photos.
- The owner reviews each change and approves the ones that sound like the business.
- Studio keeps checking and keeps the competitor research up to date, so the next useful job is always in view.
- The owner keeps the parts that need a person: answering reviews, talking to customers and deciding which jobs to chase.
What software doesn’t do
Search rankings and AI recommendations are decided by the platforms. Studio can make your website clearer and easier to understand; it can’t promise where you’ll appear. Google gives the same warning about anyone who promises a top ranking.6
Some work still needs a person. Studio doesn’t build relationships with local suppliers, sponsors or journalists, and it can’t know your customers the way you do. If you are in a very competitive market, or you are moving a large website to a new address, paying an expert for a one-off project can still make sense.
Before you switch
- Check your agency agreement for a notice period or minimum term.
- Make sure you hold the logins for your domain, your website and your Google Business Profile. The small business ombudsman says a contract should set out all costs and exit terms, and that the provider should hand over all accounts, passwords and assets when it ends.8
- Ask for a copy of any reports and research done for you.
